    The gang's all here

by Matthias Mader (null) In my opinion the Dropkick Murphy's from mighty Boston are one of the most interesting bands of current times! 16 hits produced by Lars Frederiksen (Rancid) are to be found on "The gang's all here". The new singer Al Barr gives the catchy compositions like "Blood and whiskey" or "Boston asphalt" the right kick! From time to time the Dropkick Murphys remind me of the yet unattained Stiff Little Fingers (with a squirt of Social Distortion) - is there a bigger compliment for a band? Apart from great punk rock songs the band holds some cool rebell songs in store, too, like "The fighting 69" or "Amazing grace" (featuring original bag pipes). A superb CD which will elevate a great live band into the Champions League of hardcore.
