by Markus Wosgien (10.04.2006) Since the departure of Liv Kristine it had become a bit calm in the house of the Norwegian gothic metal pioneers. Four years have passed since the last studio album, “Assembly“ and they took the time to present themselves in a completely new light. The main focus is on the new singer, Nell, of course, and her clear and powerful voice fits the new look of the band perfectly. The electronic elements that dominated the last two albums, have practically vanished completely. Instead, T.O.T. remember their roots and let it rock. “Storm” is the album that should have been released after “Aegis”, a straight, very good gothic-rock/metal album with a lot of first-class songs. One of them is the first single, “Storm”, an exceptional ear candy. But also the melancholic “Ashes and dreams“ or the groovy “Begin & end“ have a lot of hit potential. “Storm” may not be the bravest album but it can absolutely convince and will last a long time!
