by Matthias Mineur (05.10.2006) There were years when the experts bet that Skid Row would become bigger than Bon Jovi. The prerequisites were excellent, indeed: with the blond angel Sebastian Bach, Skid Row had the right womanizing, charismatic frontman. However, Bach turned out to be less business-minded. Because while Jon Bongiovi lead his band to mainstream, Bach went completely insane and left Skid Row. His fellow musicians have managed the inheritance and have begun to release new records for some years now. The current one is called "Revolutions per minute". Cool title that may reflect the truth only in parts, but that at least shows that the guys Hill, Sabo & Co. lost nothing of their vitality. With fervor and passion, they gave their new album a modern approach letting Skid Row sound up to date also in 2006. Harsh guitars, blasting drum attacks and intelligently arranged songs are the trump cards drawn by the band this autumn. No revolutions but great songs worth listening.
