Dr. Martens
Sorry, we couldn't find any matches for your search
Doctor Martens shoes are the symbol of rebellion and individuality for you? Until today we associate the brand with punk bands and rock festivals. In recent years, there has been a real hype around the shoes, which are among the most comfortable in the world and last for years. The boot has also evolved in terms of fashion: There are now a variety of models for women, men and even for children. Doc Martens have long since ceased to be simply jump boots.
The trendy brand from the UK also rocks Chelsea lace-up shoes without any problems. However, the shoes colloquially also just called "Docs" have remained true to the music. Again and again shoes are produced in cooperation with popular bands. But also Dr. Martens with colorful hearts or made of vegan leather are now an integral part of the repertoire. Whether as an expression of your own individuality or simply as a fashion accessory - at EMP you are guaranteed to find the right Doc Martens model for you!
The history of Dr. Martens
The real name of the inventor of the comfortable air cushion sole is Dr. Klaus Mรคrtens, who was looking for a way to cushion his broken foot after a skiing accident in 1945. Together with Dr. Herbert Funk, he developed an extremely comfortable shoe that enjoyed great popularity in the years that followed, especially among retirees - quite different from today's image. In 1960, the British family company Griggs became interested in the innovative shoe and acquired the license for it. The shoemaking family simply called the shoe Dr. Martens, improved it and gave the model the iconic yellow stitching as well as the platform sole. The 1460s classic Doc Martens shoe with eight holes was subsequently marketed in the UK as the perfect work shoe.
The shoe didn't get its rebellious image until several youth movements at once, including punks and skinheads, adapted the working-class shoe. At the latest when Pete Townshend, frontman of "The Who", wore the shoes, Doc Martens became a symbol of individualism and rebellion. The next big trend came in the 90s. In the course of the grunge wave, Dr. Martens boots became known and popular all over the world. A festival without Docs? Unimaginable. With the Dr. Martens shoes you could set a sign against the sluggish society. They were and are a sign of resistance and being different. And even today, these values are anchored in the roots of the Dr. Martens philosophy.
But in Germany, even in the 90s, it was almost impossible to get hold of Dr Martens Boots. The only option: a trip to London. Covent Garden has been home to Dr. Martens' legendary sales outlet since 1994. Nowadays, if you want to buy Doc Martens shoes, you don't have to fly to London. In our Dr. Martens online store you will find a wide selection of different models.
Collaborations with musicians & bands
The close connection to music is still lived by Dr. Martens today. Again and again there are limited collaborations with bands and musicians. The resulting Doc Martens boots are often sold out within a few hours. No wonder after all, Dr. Martens collaborates with the best bands and musicians in the world. You want a proof? No problem, we have compiled some collaborations from the past for you:

Vegan Doc Martens Shoes
The original Dr. Martens shoes are made of high-quality leather, which makes the boots especially durable - just the perfect working shoes. But over time, the desire for vegan Docs has grown. No wonder, the vegan lifestyle is also becoming increasingly important in the alternative music sector. The popular Dr. Martens boots are now also available as a vegan alternative. From the classic 1460 8-hole boots to elegant loafers, the selection of vegan Docs is growing and growing.
The vegan boots use synthetic materials and, of course, no leather. The uppers of the boots are made of vegan synthetic leather, which is made of polyester and polyacrylic. The soles are made of PVC and the lining is made of textile. Just like the regular boots, the vegan Docs are resistant to oil, acid and grease. No matter if you choose the vegan or normal boots: Dr.Martens stands for the highest quality.
