Over 85 million albums sold, their own aircraft and over 2,000 concerts played speaks for itself: Iron Maiden are not only pioneers of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, but one of the most important and influential bands of all time.
The band was founded on Christmas Day in 1975, and initially didn't expect anything from playing other than to enjoy themselves. Founder and long-time band member Steve Harris just wanted to be on stage first and foremost and the band modelled themselves on influences like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin.
Five years after the founding Iron Maiden release their first debut album 'Iron Maiden'. But nobody would have thought when they were recording the album, that it would mark the beginning of a legendary band history.
In a very short time, Iron Maiden catapulted themselves into the ears of music fans all over the world - the Iron Maiden cult was born. At EMP you will find, among other things, classic Iron Maiden T-shirts, which not only look good at concerts and festivals, but also in everyday life.
Matching Maiden shirts for 'The Number of the Beast' and other classics
Due to drug problems, singer Paul Di'Anno was replaced in 1981 by Bruce Dickinson, who quickly rose to become a music legend. In 1982 the album 'The Number of the Beast' was released - this album is, without question, one of the most influential albums in metal history.
Other high-flying albums like 'Piece of Mind', 'Powerslave', 'Somewhere in Time' and 'Fear of the Dark' quickly followed - to name just a few.
1993 marked the end for Dickinson, despite a more than successful history with Iron Maiden. He devoted himself to his solo projects from then on and his position at the microphone for Iron Maiden was taken up by singer Blaze Bayley.
With Bayley they released the two albums 'The X Factor' and 'Virtual XI'. Both albums fit seamlessly into the series of high-quality Iron Maiden albums.
In 1999 Bruce Dickinson finally returned to Iron Maiden. Legendary albums like 'Brave the World', 'Dance Of Death', 'A Matter Of Life And Death' and 'The Final Frontier' followed.
With their 16th studio album 'The Book of Souls', Iron Maiden managed to convince both critics and die-hard fans. The album has a phenomenal playing time of 92 minutes, which is divided into 11 songs.
In a very short time 'The Book of Souls' shot to number 1 on the album charts in Germany, Great Britain, Belgium, Finland, Hungary, Sweden, Norway, Italy and the Netherlands - what an epic achievement!
